About Me

Introducing David Cummings

I was born and raised in Riverside up until the age of 7. I moved to Anaheim Hills when I was in 2nd grade, where I went to Glenview Elementary. After Bernardo Yorba Middle School, I attended and graduated from Esperanza High School in 2008. It was there that I joined the Men's Cross Country team as a freshman and fell in love soon after with sport. I attended Fullerton Community College for two years where I learned more about myself than I like to admit. I transferred to Cal State San Marcos in the fall of 2010. I've competed in both Cross Country and Track and Field here at San Marcos. Spring 2012 marks the end of both my collegiate as well as my academic career.

Technology wise, I can get by pretty well. I can't live without the internet. I could not imagine living in a lifetime where access to information and knowledge was not at the disposal of my fingertips. That being said, I'm scared in the sense that things around me are expanding and evolving and I feel that sometimes i'm getting left behind. I can relate to how a lot of the older generation feels with regards to technology and I understand how so many of them feel lost in this constantly changing world. As much as I don't want to, I know that I will have to take a much more active approach when it comes to learning about the newest technology, because in this day and age, it is all too easy get cast aside.

While formal education will soon come to an end, I know that the rest of my life will be filled with challenges. I've been a student my entire life. Its something I'm pretty good at. I look around me and I realize that I'm growing up. Play time has long since passed.  But this doesn't mean that I will stop learning. In the mission statement, it says we are dedicated to life-long learning. It's my job...MY mission, to continue to grow and to help others learn as well...

  5. Hello David!
it is nice to meet you! I relate heavily when it comes to having an addiction to the internet. Sometimes it scares me to think about what the world would be like without it. And I often wonder how people survived without it. On the same note, I wonder if society's addiction to technology is indeed a major problem. HMMM. Anyways, I look forward to getting to know you better throughout the semester!
